In this week's message, Pastor Aaron Ross brings us into part four of our study through the Book of Judges, centering on the complex and deeply human character of Gideon.
Throughout history and in our current culture, we find ourselves surrounded by conflicts, both global and deeply personal. When faced with overwhelming circumstances, our instinct is often to look inward for enough strength or confidence to survive. However, the story of Gideon reminds us that the battle is truly the Lord's. Gideon serves as a mirror for the modern believer: he was someone who doubted, who constantly needed reassurance, and who struggled to maintain his own resolutions.
Rather than disqualifying him, Gideon’s weakness became the exact space where God chose to reveal His power. By reducing Gideon’s army to a mere 300 men armed only with trumpets, jars, and torches, the Lord demonstrated that victory does not rely on human capability, but on deep, sovereign grace. Watch or listen along with us as we learn how to step out with a boldness that comes from tracking our confidence in Jesus Christ, rather than ourselves. Amen.
