The Connected Church

In the bustling urban context of first-century Thessalonica, a new church emerged amidst severe persecution, yet their faith, hope, and love became a vibrant model for all who believed. In a similar vein, our post-pandemic world presents a unique landscape where people are seeking authentic community and spiritual vitality. Genuine, in-person relationships and spiritual growth are vital in order for us to be a vibrant church. This three-week series, based on the book of 1 Thessalonians, will re-centre our church on the relational foundations of our mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

We'll explore how our shared faith, active love, and enduring hope in Christ are the bridges that connect us to one another, to our city, and to the world. We'll learn from the Thessalonians' example of a vibrant, interconnected community that not only welcomed the Gospel, but became a powerful testimony in their own city and beyond.

This series will challenge us to embrace fully active participation, fulfilling our call to be a multicultural, intergenerational, and adaptable church that is "renewed by God's love and joining Him in renewing the city that we love."

Ultimately, the book of 1 Thessalonians reminds us that the church is not a building or a program, but a family bound together by faith and love, living in hopeful expectation of Christ's return. Our mission to extend God's love is grounded in our ability to authentically embody it with one another.
